Past Projects


  • Donated $100 to the Special Olympics Polar Plunge and had two members take the plunge in February.
  • Nominated Nick Gore from Sack Lunch Sunday for the Lions District 1-A Richard J. Daley Citizen of the Year Award where he was selected and received recognition during the District 1-A convention in March
  • Donated a Thornless Cockspur Hawthorn tree and had a tree planting at Lindop School in Broadview, Illinois with the 4th graders. Also, provided 60 students with 12-18" Norway Spruce Trees trees to take home in celebration of Arbor Day in April.
  • Donated $50 to assist an individual with eye surgery in May.
  • Two club members participated in the Stickney-Forest View Lions Club - Lions Run for Hope 5K Run/Walk in October.
  • Donated over 100 non-perishable food items to the Lagrange American Legion Auxiliary #1941 to assist in their 7th annual event which provides a Thanksgiving Day meal and food baskets for nearly 1,000 veterans and their families.
  • Conducted a Veterans Service Day where members created and collected cards and tolietries that were donated to Hines V.A. hospital in November.
  • Donated two turkeys to Brookfield VFW for their Thanksgiving lunch for the Great Lakes Naval Cadets.
  • Donated 65 children's books to Loyola Pediatric Ward and the Maywood Ronald McDonald House on December 19th.
  • Conducted an iPad  mini raffle fundraiser for the club's charitable account.  Raised over US$500 on December 19th. 
  • Donated a Walmart gift card to a single mother of 2 (9 month old and 4 year old) to assist with some necessities and Christmas gifts on December 20th.
  • Donated a Target gift card to a single mother of 3 (10 year old, 3 year old, and 3 month old) to purchase Christmas gifts for her children on December 20th.


  • Participated in the Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics on February 22nd and raised $1,320. 
  • Donated $100 to LCIF's Measles Initiative One Shot, One Life Initiative. 
  • Participated in the Lions World Lunch Relay on April 3rd. 
  • Volunteered at the Greater Chicago Food Depository on May 28th.
  • Cooked lunch for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Oak Lawn on July 19th.
  • Participated in district 1A's World Service Project by donating $200 to Leader Dogs for the Blind on August 7th.
  • Donated over $350 of school supplies to Lindop Grade School in Broadview on August 18th.  Supplies were donated by members, non-members, and the Cook County Lions Club.  
  • Volunteered at the Greater Chicago Food Depository and assisted making 2,157 boxes of food for seniors and put together over 2,000 plastic-ware sets for meals on October 1st. 
  • Participated in Lions Candy Days and collected $725.95 that will be used for hearing and vision programs/support in Illinois.  
  • Volunteered with Special Olympics Bowling Tournament on October 19th.
  • Cooked lunch for the families staying at Ronald McDonald House in Oak Lawn on November 9th. 
  • Volunteered at the Greater Chicago Food Depository on November 19th.
  • Made a $200 donation to "Sack Lunch Sunday" on December 11th. 


  • Participated in the Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics of Illionis and raised $3,866 in February 2013.
  • Volunteered at the Greater Chicago Food Depository in June and July.Assisted a family of six from Justice, IL by purchasing school supplies and a pair of eyeglasses for the oldest kid. 
  • Raised $260 by holding a Zumba in the Park event in October.
  • Donated $100 to the Lost Boys Rebuilding Southern Sudan during a club meeting in October that three lost boys presented their story and struggles. 
  • Raised $56 by holding a "Kids Helping Kids" event at Flying High Sports and Rec Center in November to raise money to the USO's United Through Reading Program. Servicemen and women simply read a book aloud while being recorded on DVD for their child. This service is available at many USO centers in airports, community locations, military medical facilities and overseas bases. The DVD and book are mailed to the child and family back home. All recording equipment, books, packing and shippingmaterials are supplied by the USO.


  • Provided funding to Mooseheart Child, City and School to continue to provide excercise classes once a week to high school girls who are not involved in organized school sports.
  • Purchased a gift for the Dupage Humanitarian Service Project to provide a local child with from a lower income family a gift for Christmas.
  • Made donation to the Community Nurse Secret Santa Program, which is a health care incentive program to provide gifts to children who get an annual health and dental exam.
  • Purchased a gift for Angle Tree, who provides gifts to children whose parents are incarcaerated on the behalf of their parents.
  • Made a donation to Lions Clubs International Foundation for disaster relief. 
  • Booze for Boobs, fundraiser to raise money for Community Nurse Health Center in LaGrange for their Women's Wellness Programs (October 26, 2012).
  • Participated in District 1 A's, Project Pink by collecting items for female soliders overseas.Collected and donated 150 books for "Books for Boots" a district collection for soldiers overseas.
  • Participated in Candy Days, to raise money for the Lions of Illinois Foundation.
  • Held a book drive and collected over 200 books to benefit St. Jude's Hospital.
  • Participated in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge in February and raised $4,820 for Special Olympics of IllinoisVolunteered at the Greater Chicago Food Depository in March.
  • Planted 3 fruit trees at Envision Unlimted, a social service nonprofit that services adults with developmental disabilities.  The organization launched a horticultural therapy program at their southside  Chicago location.  The trees were purchased through Seguin Services, another charitable not-for-profit agency  that enriches and empowers people with disabilities.


  • Collected shoes for "Share Your Soles" organization. Donated over 100 pairs of shoes!
  • Participated in Special Olympics Bowling Tournament.  
  • Participated in Lions Candy Day in November.
  • Holiday Drive Collection for Sarah's Inn and Sequin Services.


  • Volunteered at the Greater Chicago Food Depository in July.
  • Took out an ad for the Peace Officers Memorial Foundation of Cook County Fundraiser in November.
  • Volunteered at the Greater Chicago Food Depository in December.
  • Participated in Lions Candy Day in October.


  • School Supply Drive for Berwyn School District..
  • Provided eye exam and glasses to resident of Harvey, IL.
  • Assisted with the Peace Officers Memorial Foundation of Cook County Fundraiser in November.
  • Assisted with a local fundraiser to raise money to purchase diabetic testing equipment in November.
  • Assisted needy family with food and gifts for the Christmas Holidays.
